Fort Pickering Light Salem, MA
Early October, a group of friends and I visited Salem, Massachusetts for the weekend. We decided on camping and hoped for favorable weather. It was almost too hot LOL.
We made camp at the Winter Island Park. I researched the location prior and was sold on the location. Secluded from the massive crowds and as an even bigger bonus this beautiful Lighthouse is on site.
Fort Pickering Light, also known as Winter Island Light, is a lighthouse built in 1871 and discontinued by the Coast Guard in 1969. It was relit as a private aid to navigation by the City of Salem in 1983. Still works today.

After taking a few night images I turned in for the evening. It’s not often I’m within walking distance to a lighthouse at sunrise. I didn’t waste the opportunity, and I was rewarded with some great Images.
The sun just cresting the horizon.
